Intel DX58SO/TR3X6G1333C9 Problems - Corsair Community.

The BIOS tries to configure the memory controller for normal operation. Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO has four 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets arranged in three channels (A, B, and C). Channel A shares two sockets (DIMM 0 and DIMM 1) and Channels B and C have one socket each. 32-bit operating systems are limited to a maximum of 4 GB of memory.

Intel DX58SO with i7-920 (d0) or W3520 - Intel Community.

The X58 can have two QPIs and can directly connect to two processors on a multi-socket motherboard. It's a fact that when used with a single Intel Core i7, one QPI is actually unused as you are. Product Information. The Intel DX58SO is a motherboard designed for use with ATX systems. Featuring the LGA1366 processor socket, the mainboard works with certain Intel CPUs. Furthermore, this model features one PCI Express 2.0 x16, one PCI Express x4, two PCI Express x16, and one PCI slot.

HOOLY COW MAN! What an i7 920 does when mounted on a Intel DX58SO.

If only two of the blue memory slots are populated with matched DIMMs, dual-channel mode is enabled. Quad-channel mode This mode is enabled when four (or a multiple of four) DIMMs are identical in capacity and speed, and are put in quad-channel slots.

Single- and Multichannel Memory Modes - Intel.

Some retail gaming rig makers have 12GB DDR3 RAM (2 GB x 6) coming with a system. Now, typically, are all slots triple channel (six of them?), or are there any single channel slots? One mobo I saw, the Intel DX58SO, had only 3 triple channels slots (and 1 single channel slot), whereas the ASUS (P6T family) had, I think, six. 4. Based on this review Hardware Secrets Review , this motherboard uses Triple-Channel technology, which means that it can use three ram sticks optimally. While you can certainly add a fourth, it would decrease performance for the memory space above the block created by the first three. I hope this helps.

What an i7 920 does when mounted on a Intel DX58SO--- 2009/07/26 10:21:48 ( permalink ) Regarding Gigabyte boards. Easy Tune definitely fires a lot of interrupts and raises the DPC latency, which can cause dropouts and other problems. I've also seen this with CPU-Z and a few other hardware/system monitors. The DX58SO doesn't list support of the W35xx CPUs, nor does it list support of ECC. It's a gamer board. In contrast, the Supermicro C7X58 & X8SAX boards support the Core-i7, W35xx and 55xx CPUs. INTEL: The memory module voltage and timings are sometimes not detected correctly in the BIOS and can be adjusted manually to increase the system stability. There is an option in the BIOS to adjust this configuration. INTEL: You can go to Performance > Memory Overrides and check that the RAM and timings match those provided by your manufacturer.

Instead, Intel chose to price Smackover closer to the pricing of premium boards like the UD5 or the Asus P6T Deluxe, both of which way outclass the Smackover for feature sets (6 ram slots, SLI. There are problems with this board that give the X58 a bad name. 1. only 4 dimm slots. 2. 2 pcie slots. 3. single Gigabyte Ethernet. 4. and no SLI. i like crossfire but when i wanted to test out a brand new pair of 9800gx ssc cards. i was disappointed. If i wanted to get a board like this i would get a less expensive x48 board or 790i one.

3 & 4 Memory RAM Slot Not working - TechPowerUp Forums.

Intel DX58SO. ReviewS »... only two sata ports remaining for easy access. Also one of the four RAM slots is too close to the processor socket due to which hot air from your processor can heat up your RAM. This should be a problem only if you have four RAM modules installed. That reminds me that it has only 4RAM slots as compared to. RAM slots are found in pairs on the motherboard. Depending on whether you have a desktop or a laptop these slots will look different. A PC motherboard will have RAM slots that look like long channels with clasps on one or both ends. A laptop motherboard will have the RAM cards lying flat, and this applies to some Macs as well.

Just installed a DX58SO board and 920 processor with Kingmax RAM but two of the slots on the board simply will not work. The first two slots - Channel A Dimm 1 and Channel A Dimm 0 both work but Channels B and C will not work. If I populate either or both of them, the computer will not boot and gives three slow beeps indicating a RAM problem. Here is an example where we do see some difference in performance for the Core i9-9900K, but not the Ryzen 9 3900X. The Intel system saw a mild 4% performance boost when using four memory modules.

That reminds me of another of the foibles of the eVGA x58 mobos - Though I never personally experienced this, the word in the eVGA forums was that, particularly when installing Windows 8+, you reduce the RAM in your motherboard to a single stick in the main bank (and with your motherboard, that would be bank 0 in channel 0, the closest one to the CPU).

Mar 4, 2018. #2. Those are probably the only two slots which are upgradeable with RAM. The other two are probably soldered on. Confirm the models and the year. It may look different due to colour schemes. double check task manager or send a screenshot so we can check it out. 0. K. I have been using Intel DX58SO mother board for nearly 10 years with 3x4GB DIMMs of ram as this mother board manual suggested to use only the blue coloured 3 slots leaving the 4th black slot empty for best performance. That makes it 12 GB of memory. But the manual also states maximum RAM supported for this board is 16GB. The X58 chipset, supports up to 36 PCI-Express 2.0 lanes, so it is possible to have two PCIe x16 slots and one PCIe x4 slot on the same motherboard. The performance of the Smackover motherboard is simply put, “Mind Blowing”. Overclocking the Core i7 CPU with this motherboard is very easy compared to the Core 2 CPU’s.

In looking at my options, I found that within the Performance tap of Task Manager that it shows my laptop having "Slots used: 2 of 4" so I had hoped to use the other two ports for additional memory. However, according to the hardware specifications for my laptop, there are only 2 x SODIMM slots available for use. Hi, just a simple question. I'm going to buy an Intel DX58SO with an i7-920 (d0) or W3520. My question is if the Intel DX58SO can handle the d0-Stepping out of the box (without any BIOS-Update), so that I'm able to update the BIOS it with the d0-CPU for long-term use. I already checked the Infos given by Intel where nothing is stated precisely. As far as good for overclocking, I think it does just as well as the lowend big names, even better. Its very stable until hit hits its bclck wall (usually 218-220). Also, it only has 4 DIMM slots, which is a turn-off, although Im not sure why as most people only run 3 slots anyways.

I don't think X58 boards with 4 DIMM slots were that rare, the Intel DX58SO at least has 4 and a quoted max of 16GB as 4x4GB DIMMs.... $60 on 6GB of ram) especially when they were the only three. My build is.. i7 920, intel DX58SO Extreme, with G.Skill F3-10666CL7 RAM 3GB (3x1GB). The issue is that when i put all three of the ram modules and boot.. it reboots after 3 to 4 seconds and theres no display, but when i put 2 modules it boots just fine without any problem.
